Norton 360 2.0 Installation error

I've been trying to reinstall my Norton 360 2.0 more then 5 times, and keep getting the same "Installation error". I used the Norton Removal tool and still no success. What's the problem?

Instead of trying to install the old Norton 360 2.0 version, better try to install latest version - Norton 360 3.0 and then check. If you have a current subscription to Norton 360, you can update to the latest version by downloading the update (Norton 360 v3 Standard or Norton 360 v3 Premier). You can use the same product key of Norton 360 2.0 for activation of Norton 360 3.0. Download the appropriate version of Norton 360 3.0 from the above links, run the Norton removal tool 2-3 times and then try to install it. Let us know if you face any problem with installation.

Here is the Symanrec support KB for that error: Error 9999,17x when Installing .  Please follow the directions on this page to correct the problem.  Let us know your progress in solving this problem.

I would go with Yogesh's suggestion on this one because 9999 series of installation errors are not prominent in N360 3.0. This is because we are using our proprietary installation technology in N360 3.0 instead of leveraging on the MSI.

However, if the you want to use N360 2.0, db's suggestion will be the way to go.

I've done this, but now it says my product key is in use. I tried to see if I can use to the phone activation, but Canada isn't an option.

Yogesh's doesn't let me use my old product key. It says thats its already in use.

DB'S still doesn't work. I tried it more then 5 times.

Let me know the exact message for the Product key. If the problem is happening after installing Norton 360 3.0 and during the activation, we can resolve it easily. If you get the message that "Invalid Product Key" or "You have exceeded number of installations..", then contact the Symantec Technical Support through this LINK, chat will give you immediate response.

The error message is "You have exceeded number of installations". How can this be possible if i only used it on my desktop and uninstalled and reinstalled?

There is a limit for the number of installations in the same computer. For that error, I have already suggested the solution to contact the Technical Support in my previous post. They can assist you in correcting this problem immediately.
