Norton Internet Security has encountered an internal program error
Whenever I run a scan with Norton Internet Security 2009, it stops half-way into the scan, and tells me "Norton Internet Security has encountered an internal program error." and Windows gives me an error screen saying "Symantec Service Framework has stopped working."
After I have gone through these two errors, the scan says "The scan encountered an error." and stops immediately. Then I close the windows, and try to open the Norton Control Panel again. It does not open, at all. Yet, the Norton tray icons still remain, and the Norton Home sidebar utility remains.

I am using the Norton Internet Security 2009 that came pre-installed on the system.
I also have another computer, a Dell Inspiron E1505 running Windows XP Media Center 2005, that does not experience this issue.
I read another thread where a guy was having this same problem, but did not report on the "Norton Internet Security has encountered an internal program error" part of it; I am not sure if this situation is identical to his or not.
The accepted solution was to: "...Uninstall and wait for the updated release."
Well, I don't want to have to uninstall, if I don't have to.
Windows Vista is already hard enough to work with as it is.
So, if the only working solution is to uninstall it, I will probably just use Norton 360 v2.0 and never get Norton Internet Security again.
