Tracking Cookies

Hi. I posted back in August 31st that my Norton 360 suddenly was not detecting any tracking cookies on both full and quick scans . Before 24th August it had removed cookies on every scan. I spoke with Norton Help who could not explain why. I was getting worried because I figured that if a scan could no longer detect a tracking cookie then what else was it not finding.Norton Help said not to worry it was not a problem. Scans have never found anything since until today. A full scan has just detected and quarantined 97 Tracking Cookies, these are all the ones I have picked up since August. Why has it suddenly started working again as it used to.There have been no significent changes to my set up.

Re: Tracking Cookies

Did you change any of your Settings?

Did you have a look at those Tracking Cookies that were Detected?

How is your computer running?

Re: Tracking Cookies

Thanks Floating Red, No Settings were changed, but were rechecked many times. Norton Help reinstalled my 360 so until 15th December my "resolved security risks" was empty. There are now two entry's the first idle full scan finding 97 and a more recent manual Quick scan finding 17. I did look at Tracking Cookies but didn't notice anything odd . Computer has always and still is,running well . I am pleased that 360 v 3.5.2.11  is now working correctly but confused. Other details are Vista and IE 8.

Re: Tracking Cookies

Hi J-D

I really don't know, but perhaps you had some setting that got changed maybe thru a windows update or some other update. Maybe you had some trial program running which ran out that was stopping the cookie scan from running. Maybe some inadvertant change in settings which got missed.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
