Want to reinstall without paying fee.

My computer went through a system restore or repair and I believe the restore/repair uninstalled my Norton Internet Security 2010 because now I can't open the program. I cannot find the program in my control panel, and when I try to click it open, all that appears is this tiny box with the Norton Internet Security logo and it's blank. I had at least 280 days left on my subscription count and I want to reinstall the program. I want to know if I can re-install this without paying a fee of any kind, and the process as to how to do this.

Thanks.

HI non94

You don't have to pay any fee.

You can download NIS2010 from here www.norton.com/nis10

Save the file to your desktop to be run after you run the Norton Removal Tool..

To get rid of any remnants of your failed program you should run the Norton Removal Tool. Note that this will remove all Norton Products from your system. Download the tool from here and save it to your desktop.

Run the Removal Tool a couple of times with a reboot between each run. Then run the NIS 2010 installation file you saved to your desktop. After installation you should run liveupdate repeatedly until you get a message that there are no more updates - you may be asked to reboot your system.

You can get your activation code from your Norton Account if you requite it by logging on at www.mynortonaccount.com but the installer should pick it up automatically from your system.

Re: Want to reinstall without paying fee.

I couldn't have said it better.

This is the procedure and indeed it's free ;)
