Windows XP Support

Will Windows XP support be dropped from Norton products? Personally, I think that XP is superior than its sucessors, and that I will be using it for decades to come; and 2k support was dropped in 2008.

Re: Windows XP Support

Dont worry about that. More then half the PC's in the world are on XP. Vista was a huge mistake like ME. Why do you think Microsoft is working on Windows 7 already cause they no Vista was a flop. So rest assure that Symantec will support XP for a long time.

Re: Windows XP Support

Just how long is that long time? Because I want to continue using NAV/NIS/NAV GE/N360 ... well ... for basically forever ... and want to have the latest version as well.Message Edited by Tech0utsider on 12-12-2008 10:18 PM

Re: Windows XP Support

I understand your interest but do you really think that:

Norton themselves have a firm date set already?

If they have they would tell the public something of commercial value?

Re: Windows XP Support

I think Norton will, partly at least, be influenced by the number of users using XP. They're not going to stop supporting a product that so many people use. They want to make money!

Another factor is when M$ withdraws support which for XP is:

Mainstream support - 14/04/2009.

Extended support - 08/04/2014.

See this page

In view of all this, I don't think you need to worry yet!
