How to install without a disk drive?

I bought Norton 360 4.0 to put on our 3 computers. After puttingit on my first laptop I realized my netbook doesnt have a disk drive and th disk drive in our kids computer is shot. I figured I could come to the website and download th software and enter the product key from the disk but I cant find any place on here that gives that option. Is it possible to do, if so how? Thanks for any help.

For the Standard v4.0 edition: http://www.norton.com/n360s_4/

For the Premier v4.0 edition: http://www.norton.com/n360p_4/

(Standard includes 2GB online backup; the Premier includes 25GB online backup [I believe; been some time since I checked]).  Your package should say which version you have.

Re: How to install without a disk drive?

kristi,

After you install from that download you can check for updated versions on the Support drop list and it should bring you up to the later V5 which can be used for the balance of your V4 subscription.

Make sure you don't download the netbook version if it should be offered to you on the website (I don't think that will happen) since the Standard key is not valid for the netbook version; and note tht you have to match the Standard or Premier to your KEY since they are not interchangeable.

Exactly where did you download it from?

It sounds to me as if you got to source that uses a download manager -- as Norton does from the Update Center or if you download a trial version -- which may behave as you say and put files in a group on the desktop.

But when I use the links that were given in the message above I get a redirection with a request to aurthorize the download in a bar on the browser and then I get a screen

as here and clicking on Save gives me screen on where to save it to -- I use tehdefault Downloads folder if I'm using WIndows 7.

That then downloads you a single file that should install when you Run it.

Can you explain what may be happening differently for you?

Re: How to install without a disk drive?

Is there such a link for 360v5? I am having problems with the Download Manager and want to install from a file, not the Internet.

New N360 V5:  Click on the link that matches your version:

Norton 360 v5 Standard: http://www.norton.com/n360s_5/  << version with 2GB of online storage

Norton 360 v5 Premier: http://www.norton_com/n360p_5/    << version with 25GB of online storage

Norton 360 v5 Standard Netbook Edition: http://www.norton.com/n360sne_5/   Netbook Edition  << version with 2GB of online storage

Norton 360 v5 Premier Netbook Edition:  http://www.norton_com/n360pne_5/   Premium Netbook Edition  << version with 25GB of online storage

Make sure you get the right version since the keys are not interchangeable. SAVE the file where you can find it -- do not run it from the download site when Windows asks what you want to do.

You can download that file on any computer and transfer it to a thumbdrive to install on another.

When it asks you to activate it you can click on Renew and enter the key there.

I see that the current latest with the FF4 and other fixes is there now: N360-ESD-18-6-0-29-EN.exe
