Norton keeps incorrectly identifying a file as a Trojan.

As the thread title says, Norton (Internet Security) keeps removing a file thinking it is a Trojan.

I have added it to the exceptions when scanning, but it still decides it's going to remove it, and so every time I want to use the program I have to go into the History and restore the file, and then disable Auto-Protect to launch the program.

The file in question is an Application extension, and I know that it is safe.

I'm running Windows 7 64-Bit in case you need to know.

So how can I stop this file from being removed?

Thanks.

Here is the support article with the steps to add the file to Sonar, Scan, and Auto-Protect Exclusion list:

Re: Norton keeps incorrectly identifying a file as a Trojan.

The file that Norton keeps saying is trojan and that you think is a false positive.

I would recommend you to submit the file to symantec, so they can analyse the file for you.

Here are two links thier you can submit the file.

It was the Sonar thing you were saying about, and it's fixed now. Thanks very much :)

Hi,

please add the file to the SONAR exclusion list as well, it will be SONAR what is deleting your file after you had set up an Auto-Protect exclusion.
