Windows 7 64 bit + Norton IS 2012

I am running Windows 7 64-bit.

I just bought Norton IS 2012 , and i read on the package that browser protection against vulnerabilities is only in the 32 bit version of IE and Mozilla.

Now i have a 64-bit windows , i do not have browser protection now ?

Hi IndoNator,

Welcome to Norton Community.

Yeah, as mentioned we don't support for 64-bit version browsers and we support only 32-bit versions

64-bit OS do have a 32-bit version of IE (by default inside x86 folder) for which we are very much compatible.

We are also compatible with Mozilla firefox & Google Chrome browser 32-bit versions too.

Let us know if you require more details on this.

Regards,

Prasanna.

Even if you have a 64-bit Windows, chances are you are already running the 32-bit version of your browser anyway, and that is very much supported on all versions of Windows.

It's too bad nobody is supporting 64 bit browsers. They have been included with Windows for almost 5 years now.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit + Norton IS 2012

If i check  '' help '' in firefox , i see this ,

Useragent : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1

WOW64 means that i can run a 32 bit application on a 64-bit version right ?

So i am now running 32 bit browser ?

Im almost sure but i need some confirmation
