NIS 2012 and Windows 7 ESET Smart Security

I just installed NIS 2012 on a brand-new Windows 7 system that came with "ESET Smart Security", which was bundled in with Windows 7 from Microsoft. I expected NIS to disable ESET, but they seem to be working side by side.

If I disable ESET from my system, am I loosing any security protection?

If I remove ESET from my system, am I loosing any security protection?

Thanks

Re: NIS 2012 and Windows 7 ESET Smart Security

No NIS alone will handle your system's security, you don't need Eset at all, running more than one security suite in realtime mode may cause driver conflicts which can lead to BSODs and other problems and may cause a decrease in your system's performance.

Re: NIS 2012 and Windows 7 ESET Smart Security

Do not forget to remove ESET thoroughly after using regular windows uninstall for ESET, because remnants can influence the working of NIS!
