Urgert - Norton 360 has been disabled !

Hi there,

today after normal boot I notice with terror that in the tray there was no icon for Norton, usually after boot the icon is present and it is signed in yellow mark.

I wonder what happened, trying to click start > progs > norton > norton360 ( if I recall the right name ) the antivirus does not start,

even if I start in safe mode, I fear bad things :-(

Please helps as soon is possible, for the moment I switch the router off.

Thank you.

regards.

Hi ferrux,

Norton does not load in Safe Mode - ever.  So please reboot into normal mode and check to see if the program starts.

Nope,

it does not load even in normal mode.

If I try to double click the Norton 360 services in the windows services list it says

it cannot start, gosh !

Thanks for help :-)

What notifications or error codes are you getting, if any?

Re: Urgert - Norton 360 has been disabled !

If I double click the Norton 360 I get ' cannot run as a local computer'

if I modify the login tab for 'Norton 360' service and I enter the administrattor login and password

and start the service again I get , cannot write to disk.

Please consider that all happened suddenly today when I switched the pc on, last night all was working properly :-/

Thanx

I see you have recently had a Boot.Tidserv infection.  You may want to post to one of the following malware removal sites for assistance before proceeding any farther on your own with this.

Thank you for your email,
before posting abroad since I trust this forum very much and  since N360 is one of Norton 'creatures'

I thnk that this forum might hold more inside information since it is his native home.

I cannot believe I am the first customer to experience this on N360 and that is a new history case.

At leat hope, it should be I guess :-)

Thanks
