Bug in Chrome Toolbar

Hello all,

I have noticed what I believe is a bug with the Norton Toolbar in Google Chrome.  When I run a search from the address bar (to avoid Google instant  ),  the Norton Toolbar disappears.  Also,  the Safe Site icons do not display.

Please see below.

Thanks,  Dave.

Re: Bug in Chrome Toolbar

You are welcome!  I have since noticed that it is inconsistent.  Happens sometimes and other times works as it should.

Re: Bug in Chrome Toolbar

Dave,

This problem is a known issue and we are tracking it with a defect.

Is occurs only when ‘Google Instant is ON’ [from either 'Chrome Instant' ON under Browser Options (OR) set 'Google Instant Predictions' ON from Search Settings under Gear icon in Google page]

Can you please disable Instant option and check if you still see the issue?

Thanks

Princila

Re: Bug in Chrome Toolbar

Hi Princila,

Thanks for the quick response and the feedback.

I do not like Google Instant.  I think it is a PITA!

In "Basics" settings "Enable Instant" is unchecked.  In "Under the Bonnet" I have "Use a prediction service to help complete searches..." unchecked.  The reason I use the address bar is these settings stick.  I clear cookies,  history and other data when I close Chrome.

The Search Settings under the gear icon do not stick as they require me to save cookies.  I will change this setting too and do some testing.

Thanks,  Dave.

Edit:  I have just checked and the gear icon has vanished.  I guess they want me to sign in,  which I would rather not do.
