554 Transaction Failed : Cannot send message due to possible abuse

Hi,

I get the message  from Norton when using Outlook to send e-mail :

Email Error

554  Transaction Failed : Cannot send message due to possible abuse; please visit http://postmaster.yahoo.com/abuse_smtp.html for more information.

How can I stop this from occurring as there is no abuse on the e-mail and it isn't the number of destination addresses as it occurs for single addresses upto over 20 addresses in the To and/or CC in Outlook.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi jimfaman,

The message is being displayed by Norton but is originating from your email service provider.  You are evidently doing something that is tripping their spam filter.  You need to check with them about this.

Re: 554 Transaction Failed : Cannot send message due to possible abuse

I called my Internet Service Provider help desk and they were able to identify the source of the problem and reset my e-mail account which fixed the problem.
