If none of the anti-malware programs you have used has found anything malicious, you might want to check with your email service provider to see what assistance they can offer.

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

Hi Bruce,

You can try disabling Outgoing Email Scanning feature to get rid of these messages.

Start your Norton product.

Click Settings.

Depending on your Norton product, do one of the following:
  • For Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security: Click Network. In the left pane, click Message Protection. Next to Email Antivirus Scan, click Configure.
  • For Norton N360: Click Antivirus. On the Scans and Risks tab, next to Email Antivirus Scan, click Configure.
In the Email Antivirus Scan window, under What to scan, uncheck Scan outgoing email messages.

Click Apply.

In the Security Request window, select Permanently from the drop-down menu and then click OK.

In the Email Antivirus Scan window, click OK.

In the Settings window click OK or Close.  Note: The above steps will only stop the annoying popup messages from appearing. However will not resolve the cause of the issue.
   Thanks and regards,
Anas.

Hi bruce007,

You may be better off posting on the Comcast EMail Board - I know they have changed some ports and have recently made some other changes to their email.

http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Security-and-Anti-Virus/bd-p/13

I haven't been on the Email Forums lately as the Norton upgrades etc have kep tme busy on their Security Forum.

You might even get lucky and be able to search for n answer.

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

Hi anas,

Disabling email scanning might stop Norton from displaying the alerts, but the alerts are coming from the ISP and, if Norton does not display them, the email client will.  The user will still get the delivery failure notifications.

Yahoo is blocking the messages, but they appear to  be originating from your Comcast account.  There isn't a lot of information in the notifications, and since I don't know anything about your email account, the IP addresses don't tell me much.  While it looks like someone is using your account, the fact that AV products don't detect malware on your system may mean that the account was simply hacked, rather than your computer having been zombiefied.  Comcast can look at the activity on the account.  Are you noticing any increased internet activity, computer slowdowns, messages in your email program's "Sent" folder or other suspicious happenings?

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

Guru, I have mercury mail server on this computer. how can find out who is hacking my computer? if there any software or I should call comcast, but how can I tell if it is hacking activities? do they hack into my computer, or email account or rounter..? sorry, Ihave no ideas about hacking... I will double check on the following tonight

-"Are you noticing any increased internet activity, computer slowdowns, messages in your email program's "Sent" folder or other suspicious happenings? "

my feeling is that something is hacking my mercury mail server. the reason is that there are 2-3 ports that I closed in rounter (62334, 62333, 65010.. these ports are continuet to change, but it is in 30000 to 67000 range) I closed port range from 30000 to 67000 in my router. but i still notice some activies in these ports...

thank you

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

I am not fluent in mail servers.  But have you checked the logs to see if the messages are being sent through your server?

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

All, thank you for assitances. Base on my following digging. I found that spammer hacked my mail server/using my server to send out spam mails. so it is not norton issue. I am going to figure out how to secure mail server. thanks again.

Re: Norton Multiple Email Error Pop-ups

Error message says :  The IP you're using to send mail is not authorized to.   This is sent by Norton and each time I cancel it another one pops ups with a different address.
