uncatergoized site pop up

hi all

when using the internet on my dughters account only (not mine!) I( keep getting a notification from norton that the computer is trying to connect to an uncatergorized site, even when I'm not clicking on anyting. THe site is ak.apnstatic.com

I vannot find what this site is anywhere, or why my computer is trying to access it. I've done a full scan and no viruses or threats are found.

Any ideas please?

Re: uncatergoized site pop up

Hi,

Which version of Norton do you use?

Which is your operating system? Can you provide a screenshot for this?

If you suspect a threat in computer, please try Norton Power Eraser:

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Re: uncatergoized site pop up

HI,

I have Norton 360 running on windows 7 starter. I'm not sure if its just something facebook or Skype is trying to do as it is on my daughters computer and she has these open all the time. I've done full system scan and NPE but nothing was found. I've also tried to search on line for this file name but it is not mentioned.

Thanks

Re: uncatergoized site pop up

Try a full system scan in Safe Mode. This way, some malware cannot hide behind running Windows processes.

I would also suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

Things happen. Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.
