Norton 360 vs Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
I currently have Norton 360 6.0 on my computer. I also use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as well as a backup Malware scanner to double check any files I download or incase I suspect I may have an infection that Norton has failed to notice, like a lot of members on here and on other forums have advised to do.
However, a week or so ago Norton informed me I could update to Norton 360 2013 but it said there was a conflict with Malwarebytes, something no previous versions of Norton 360 have informed me about.
Now I know from researching this problem isn't just limited to Norton 360 and is affecting those using Norton Internet Security too. I have two questions:
1) Since I'm using the free version of Malwarebytes with no real-time scanning and I only use it as an On Demand scanner, in theory there shouldn't actually be any conflict should there? Would it then be ok to update Norton and continue using Malwarebytes whenever I feel the need to?
2) If I don't update to the latest version of Norton and decide to keep using 6.0 until there is some resolution, will my computer be safe? I understand it won't have the new features and some of the new things like that but as long as the virus/malware definitions keep updating, should it still work as it should do? Will 6.0 recieve all the Liveupdates that the latest version of Norton 360 gets?
Thanks for any help.
