NIS 2014, aka V21

Anyone heard any info as to when NIS 2014 aka v 21 is down for final release, and what the improvements are ? From what I've read there isn't that much that's new, except for improved detections etc.

Having adopted 2013 very early and having to revert to 2012, at least twice, I'm in no hurry to go down that route again ! By the same token, I'd like the latest and greatest, but hoping Norton will do a better job of this release, than they did with 2013.

Hi F4E,

I haven't heard anything but whereas you started using 2013 early, I stayed on the fence and waited till only after this latest release before upgrading from 2012 because of all the teething problems, so I echo your concerns that indeed Symanted do get things right and do a better job than the last one when the all new 2014 version is launched.

The standard answer to this kind of question is    "When it is ready"

Choosing an arbitrary release date can be dangerous. Better to delay as long as necessary to get the code as close to "perfect" as possible.

2013 was complete garbage and a mess. Only since the last update has it got where it should be. I hope they take time with it this time around.

Hello,

Norton 2014 is listed on the german amazon page for the 14th September.

http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00EAGXBWY/ref=s9_simh_gw_p65_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1BP9C78KV2AYHXBCAGNB&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463375173&pf_rd_i=301128

Norton 2013 was released in September 2012, so it´s quite likely it will be released in September again.

Peter, I appreciate the *when it is ready* situation, having been a long time Norton user ! As I got the 2013 first download on September 4 last year, I figured it might be fairly close. Purely a hypothetical question, as I wondered if anyone close to the *source* might have heard a whisper.

Even if anyone were close enough to hear the whisper, they would be under a NDA...

Re: NIS 2014, aka V21

Well I would say very soon. I just got a 5 User Professional 2013 NIS for $29 this was a boxed addition so the Vendor was dumping his inventory. This extends my Lic on all 4 of my computers for another year. Looks like I'll miss out on 2014 until next year this time. Or Maybe I'll get a upgrade since I installed within 30 days of the release of 2014????

You will be able to upgrade to v21 for free when it is released.  You don't need to do that within 30 days, you can do it whenever you like.

Cheers.

How do you think: Will  be 2014 release more stable than 2013 in a day of its official release?

Probably not. Even with the final release, there are bound to be teething problems. I'm adopting a wait and see, this time around....

Re: NIS 2014, aka V21

My experience with this Beta was that the most problems have been with Identity Safe and its Vault. I'm confident it will be ready for prime time!!! Hoping, anyway.
