how can I remove the hijacking program v9.com using NRTN 360
Have you run a full system scan in Safe Mode using your 360?
I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
V9.com = PUP and Shortcut infector and can come with Zeroaccess at times.
Haven't tried Safe Mode scan, (but it's not on my computer, a friends). I'll let you know if and when.
I am not too keen on malwarebytes I've seen some unhappy reports about this utility about what it sometimes removes.
Last I knew Malwarebytes did not deal with v9.com anyway even on the Malwarebytes forum, and I know why.
From what Quads notes above, I would suggest signing up at one of the free Malware Removal sites listed below. At this point, do not run any more scans yourself until a malware expert instructs you to do so.
V9 is not a virus, but a browser hijacker, see this step by step V9 removal guide: http://www.yac.mx/en/guides/browser-hijacker-removal/how-to-remove-v9com-hijacker-through-isafe-virus-removal-tool.html
a) I wouldn't trust the tool
b) who ever made the instructions appeared to forget on major piece of the V9 (and other in the small family) what about the shortcuts to fix??
DVSSN, I agree with with Quads in regard to the V9 removal tool. I would do as peterweb suggested, and go to one of the listed forums, and stick with one expert, until your system is fixed.
