Samsung galaxy s2

I was sold norton tablet security by someone at pc world. When I install it on to my galaxy s2 and run the app it doesn't fit the screen. I was told it would work for both phones and tablets. Is this an error with the program or have I been sold the wrong thing? Thanks

Welcome to the community.

On the basis that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a mobile phone rather than a tablet even if it has a fairly large screen...I would say that PC world sold you a pup. What I think you need it Norton Mobile Security (NMS) which is available from the Android Market under the title "Norton Security and Antivirus".

If I were you I would go back to PC world and ask for a refund and see if they can provide you with a "retail" version of NMS. This can be installed directly onto the phone or downloaded and activated directly from the Norton servers.

If PC World are not any help (and they should be as they have sold you something that appear to be "not fit for purpose") then you can try Norton directly who offer a full refund if you have not had the product for long. However as this appears to be a PC World fault I would again urge you to go to them for a resolution. Which appears to be to uninstall Tablet Security and install NMS (not the Lite version but the paid full version I would suggest). I would also suggest that you add the free Norton Anti-Theft plug in that can be obtained from the Android Market.

Unfortunately the screen for the galaxy s2 phone, while large for a phone, is not a supported resolution. I'd follow Mike's advice and get a refund for NTS and buy NMS instead.

Not yet anyway. But because you need to flash your phone to apply updates (at the moment) and updates are a bit slow to come out at present then you mite need to in the future as holes in the security are found.

Unlike a desktop Linux, where you have many to choose from, updates always coming through which makes it harder to write some misc code to hurt a large amount of systems. Hope Android keep this in mind as they are the top Linux system on mobile devices and so an easier target and also open and used by the mass ignorant public

Could you clarify your comments? It seems confusing to talk about OS/firmware updates when the question was about NTS supporting a phone or not.
