Hi Scott,

Thank you for your quick reply. However, I don't have the exact same options in my settings as you have described. Are you referring to Norton 360 Version 2? I have just realised I bought Norton 360 Version 1, which is really annoying, because apparently the newest version costs only $79.99 on the Symantec website, while I recently paid $103.68 just a couple weeks ago for the previous version. I didn't see the new version on their website at the time. :smileymad:

Could I send you a screen image on here, or maybe to your email address so I can show you exactly what I see? When I go to the Task Scheduling settings I can see the section at the top for the PC Tuneup feature, but unfortunately it only allows me to define the general scheduling, and not make any specific changes to indivdual tasks of the PC Tuneup.

Also, thank you for the advice on using the threads. I really appreciate the help from people on this forum.

Thank you,

KK

PS: When I go to the details section on the main page under PC Tuneup it tells me that Internet Browser History tasks have been set to manual, but why does it still automatically remove the browsed websites nevertheless?

Message Edited by KK on 07-12-2008 09:48 AM

Hi,

Is there any chance I can manually choose which settings I want for the PC Tuneup feature in Norton 360? I'm happy with all the settings, except that I would rather keep my Internet Browsing History as I freqently search for online articles, and it would be a pain to note down or save all the random websites.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but how do I check whether I have version 1 or 2 of Norton 360. I'm just going to check whether it is on my Norton Account, but I would appreciate anyone's help regarding both the above issues.

Thank you,

KK

Hi KK,

To unselect the automatic browser history clearing feature, open your main N360 window, click on "Settings" at the bottom, then "Tash Scheduling." You should see "Internet Explorer History" under "PC Tuneup."

I believe someone answered your version checking question in your other thread ;-)

~scott

PS If you edit your post you can check/uncheck the notification box without making a new thread.

Hi KK,

I just saw your edited reply. There are also settings in your browser for automatically clearing browsing history and other private data every time you exit. You may want to check those settings out as well. They are browser specific so you'll have to check with the documentation on your particular browser for the specifics.

Feel free to email me with any specific questions you might have as well.

~scott

Hi,

The issue has now been sorted out since upgrading to Norton 360 version 2 following Tony's advise. I can now appropriately alter the settings manually so as to not erase the Internet Browser History, and it has already made the difference. I am very pleased with all the additional featres this version provides, and will definitely continue subscribing for as long as I own a computer in the household. This is the first Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software that I feel thoroughly deserves to be labelled 'complete'!

Thanks to both of you for all your help. It has made it even easier to use an already great product.

KK
