I have a single licence covering 3 household PC's. One of the PC's (a laptop running XP Home) is no longer useable and is shortly to be replaced by a new laptop running 7 Home Premium. As the new laptop is replacing one of my "3 household PC's", will I be able to load 360 and activate it with my existing product key?

hi balrog,

Yes, you can transfer Norton 360 to your new computer and activate it with your existing key; however, if you can still access the hard drive, please uninstall Norton 360 from your old laptop. If the hard drive is dead, you can still install Norton 360 on your new machine, but you might receive a notification telling you that you have exceeded the number of activations allowed. If that happens, simply go to Symantec Customer Support at the link below, explain the situation to them, and they will reset the activations for you:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

Also, please download and save the latest version of Norton 360 from one of the appropriate links below (depending on which edition - Standard or Premier - you have got) to your new computer; version 3.5 is the only version of Norton 360 which is compatible with Windows 7 - the disc version, which contains version 3.0, is not compatible with Windows 7. However, keep the disc since it has the Norton Recovery Tool.

Norton 360 Standard Edition version 3.5

http://www.norton.com/n360s_3

Norton 360 Premier Edition version 3.5

http://www.norton.com/n360p_3

You will need your Norton 360 product key to activate Norton 360 once it has been installed on your new machine; you can fetch your key from your Norton account:

http://www.mynortonaccount.com/

Once you have activated Norton 360 with your product key, your remaining subscription days will be picked up automatically.

Finally, you may want to read the following documents since your new computer is running Windows 7:

Windows 7 and Norton products - frequently asked questions:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20090605001726EN

On Windows 7:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help

Hope this helps :-)

Message Edited by Yaso_Kuuhl on 12-30-2009 02:08 PM
