topic Thinkpad Backup Fails in Norton 360

I have a Thinkpad running WinXP Pro SP3. The Thinkpad has an embedded backup/restore function. I can restore even if Windows will not boot. I recently switched from McAfee to Norton 3.8.0.14. I can no longer backup. The backup stops due Norton having many many open files. Backup tells me to stop the offending application. Silent mode still fails. Posts in the forum indicate that Norton cannot be ended. I am at an impass. At this point, my only option seems to be to find some other security software. Any ideas??

For some reason I can't get it paste...so here is the message:

Rescue and Recovery is unable to back up the file'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\00000083/000033\000001f9\cltLMS1.dat' because the file is either corrupted or is being used buy another application. Please close any application that could be using the file. Retry Skip Cancel.

If I skip the file another similar files immediately stops the backup.

Disable the Norton Tamper Protection from your Norton 360, and then try to run the backup again. Let us know the results.

Yogesh
