topic 360 + Advanced SystemCare 5 Pro? in Norton 360

I have Norton 360 just as of right now, but I also have ASC 5 Pro. Advanced SystemCare has a feature called Auto Boost that makes your computer faster by speeding up all your processes and has a tuneup just like Norton 360. Will both tuneups conflict with each other? Should I remove ASC all together?

Please respond,

thanks.

ASC essentially does the same thing 360 does. It may use its own defrag rather than Window's defrag. That's about it. The redundancy would only add more overhead, defeating the purpose.

I don't recommend any registry cleaner; you don't get any performance gain but you will get broken programs.

I don't recommend any real-time defragmenter: one memory error and all your files go through a shredder (had that happen once, not risking it again); I like MyDefrag w/Window's Task Scheduler. Go nuts with your own custom scripts if you like.

There's no software method to "speed up your processes"; IIRC, the "boost" feature just shuts down several Windows services. If you don't need those services, you can just disable them yourself. I'm a fan of optimisation in all things (I have to keep it in check sometimes even) but if you have to resort to this, it's time to replace that 6-year old computer.
