Make sure that the "User" name is the same as the one N360 is using.

I did that before. I simply called mine "DAD". When I reinstalled Windows I called the account "Dad". When I did the restore using N360 it created another account called DAD. So I had two in the user accounts. Not sure if that is what happened here but worth a shot.

I used 360 to backup Word documents and pictures. I installed Win7. I attempted to restore the saved files. 360 indicated that the restorations were successful but Pictures and Documents in Win7 are empty.

John

Hi JohnLumb,

I would like to know some more information about the backup. Where you have backed up your files, Is it on the same computer or Secure online storage or to an external hard drive.

While restoring the files, Where you have restored the files, Is it to your original location or new location?

What is the operating system and version of Norton.

Thanks,

Murali

Backed up files were saved to an external hard drive. Back up was done because I was doing a clean install and upgrade of Win7. When I tried to restore I initially tried "original location" but after failure I decided that since it was a new version of Win7, "original" might not work.

So I tried again, selecting documents and sending them to My Documents. 360 indicated success, but no transfer was done. Then I tried selecting a bunch of photos and restoring them to the Pictures library. 360 indicated the restoration was successful but no pictures appeared in Pictures.

The new OS is Win7 Ultimate and the version of 360 I don't know- but the most current I'd guess because I just downloaded it and reinstalled it last week after the installation of Win7.

John
