Why did I get a direct message from a sys admin telling me I am ranked a newbie?

Why am I wasting my time posting this question?

The direct message is generated by one of the imps within the system. Glad to know he's on the job. As to the rank, that's where everybody starts. Given time and participation that will change. The other thing tha will change is the 'captcha' routine. Please do visit often and lend a hand helping other users. A word of warning, it can get addictive.

Wow. Y'all have as much time on your hands as imp Tony Weiss.

So seriously, I sign up for this service, make my first post noting that the dern Norton extension keeps crashing my Chrome browser.

And then my first two direct messages from Norton are generated by imps or Al Gore or whatever. And now I'm a visitor not a newbie.

Fine, give me a badge. and then another. But turn off the imp. I could freakin' care less. Direct messages should be for humans not imps.

Hi jd,

I'm not sure about the 'too much time'. But I will admit to being a bit addicted to this community. Tim and Tony aren't really imps. We aren't sure what they are. They just devote most of their life and time to making things better here and with the products that Norton produces.

With registration your status will change. Like most everything changes over time.

The badge is something you will have to create for yourself, there are limits, but go to My settings, see it in the top right corner of the screen? then to Social Connect, then to badge settings. Enjoy
