Firefox download intelligence not working with Office automatic scan enabled

When microsoft office automatic scan is enabled, firefox hangs on "scanning for viruses" in the download manager window.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have reinstalled norton and firefox and have traced it down to this setting.

Hello!

This settings is turned off by default . Turning it on will not give you any extra protection so you'd better keep it off.

Can you try disabling Firefox's automatic scanning feature as outlined in this thread?

Thanks for the reply.

I tried disabling the scan when done in about:config. Now it does not scan at all. When I re-enable the scan wen done parameter it scans as normal. I have narrowed it down to the office files scan option.
