Yes I am in the UK & I am using the Norton that is supplied with the broadband package. It is 'Norton Security Online Provided by BT Yahoo! Online Protection', well that's what it says on the top of the interface. The interface looks like Norton 2007, but I am not actually sure what type it is.

I recently checked my Norton (Symantec) protection centre. Everything seems to be working fine except when I tried to view the Online Virus Encyclopaedia. Then I got a pop-up stating Norton Security Online Error & telling me to uninstall then re-install Norton Online. I eventually did this with the help of my provider; BT Yahoo. After a process of some three & a half hours this was eventually achieved. The problem is still the same. I can go online & view the encyclopaedia or see it in this site. I get exactly the same pop-up if I click for any security information. The people at BT Yahoo assure me that everything is fine & working & I have all the updates. Has anyone else had this problem?

Message Edited by Daveski17 on 10-12-2008 04:06 PM

And that you are in the UK?

I'm not sure if we can be of any help here with that product but I've flagged your message for a Norton Staffer -- names in red -- to look at since they will know.

Thanks. I get the same pop up when I click on 'Technical Support' (which should take me to BT Yahoo) & 'General Security Information' (which should take me to Symantec).
Message Edited by Daveski17 on 10-13-2008 03:45 AM

As I said, the BT Yahoo versions are custom items and us ordinary users may have no knowledge of how they behave, or should behave! It's hard enough keeping up with the normal retail versions we use ourselves!
