sOulbAit: Thanks for trying, but that thread is about NIS ... I'm dealing just with NAV. What's really got me agitated is that I upgraded through my subscription, and there doesn't seem to be any way to go back to 2008. I'm going to uninstall it, and purchase something that actually works and protects my computer FULL time.

Running XP SP2. NAV loads fine on boot up, and works as it's supposed to. Email (POP3) works just fine. If the computer goes into standby mode the Norton icon doesn't appear in the task bar anymore, and attempts to attach to my POP server are rejected by the host. I cannot then restart NAV2009 either ... it does nothing. NAV2008 had no such problem. If I reboot, we're back to normal with NAV2009 in the task bar.

I've already uninstalled NAV2009 using the new tool and that went without a hitch, and re-downloaded and installed 2009 without problems.

With the possible exception of some IBM 3090 OS/VS upgrades in the eighties, this is probably the WORST "upgrade" I've ever installed ... grin!

I'd recommend you install SP3 (I've experienced only improvements with what I consider to be one of MS' best service packs). If nothing else, make sure you've installed all the MS framework updates. It may take a couple of visits to MS or Windows Update.

Yeah ... upgrade Windows ... THAT will work. Not. I'm pretty much convinced that NAV2009 is a beta release. There are cheaper and better alternatives out there. Unless this gets resolved I'll cancel my subscription. Who needs PART TIME protection?
