      <title>NIS 2012 Error 8506 422 and now  8502 422</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;OK...&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I havent made any changes on my PC and yet Norton Internet security 2012 has begun acting wierd and keeps checking for a fix as it says its encountered an error , first it was  Error 8502 422 and now  8506 422 .    It cant find a fix either so im stuck .&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;XP SP3.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Hello LX3,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I don't know what may have caused the issue, but unfortunately according to &lt;a href="https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?docid=v63747357_EndUserProfile_en_us&amp;amp;lg=english&amp;amp;ct=united+states&amp;amp;product=home&amp;amp;version=1&amp;amp;pvid=f-home" target="_blank"&gt;this KB&lt;/a&gt; the remedy is to use the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your product and then reinstall it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Before doing so, be sure you have saved your Identity Safe Data either by moving it to your Online Vault or exporting the data to a convenient location on your computer.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Once the Norton Removal Tool has run, you should be prompted to reinstall NIS 2012.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If not, you can download and save &lt;a href="http://norton.com/nis12" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;NIS 2012 from this link&lt;/a&gt;  OR&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You also have the option to download the latest (2012 version) from within your &lt;a href="https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;Norton Account&lt;/a&gt;.       <description>&lt;p&gt;Hello,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks but i cant use the Norton uninstall tool as its MSI removal  completely destroys my Roxio creator 2009 !!  I have reported this before but nothing was ever done about it.  Thanks.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;When was the last time you used the NRT?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am aware of the problem that had occurred with Roxio previously - I encountered it myself.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, the tool has since been updated and when I tested it, it did not affect my Roxio product.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;[edit:]  I just checked my records and the current NRT version 2012.0.0.19 was released on June 22, 2011.  This is the version that I tested and it had no effect on various Roxio versions up through DE 10.3&lt;/p&gt;</description>
