how to reinstall norton

i uninstalled norton,put it in my recycle bin,then emptied it. i ran recuva using snap files, it was successful, it looked like the origanl files were there and not corrupted it they were (excellant) i recovered them but now i dont know how to reinstall them. i have a acer 7110 laptop,which is my only pc,and i run windows vista basic.

i dont know which norton product i had ,it came already downloaded. it was purchased in 2007 and the files i found have a date of 2006 . i hope some of this helped.

If you have a subscription for Norton 2006 or later, then you can upgrade for free to Norton 2010.

Please access your Norton account to copy your product key and to see whether you had Norton Internet Security (which always comes with a firewall) or Norton AntiVirus (no firewall) installed:

Accordingly, you can download NAV or NIS 2010 from one of the appropriate links below and save the installation package to your computer:

www.norton.com/nis10 (Norton Internet Security)

www.norton.com/nav10 (Norton AntiVirus)

You will need your product key to activate Norton 2010. During the activation, your remaining subscription days will be automatically picked up. If you encounter any difficulties during activation, such as a notification saying that you have exceeded the number of allowed activations, please contact Symantec Customer Support at the link below - you can chat with them for free - and they will be able to sort out things for you:

PS: You mentioned putting Norton in your recycle bin - did you uninstall it properly/thoroughly via the control panel?

i uninstalled from the control panel then put it in the recycle bin which i emptied,i am on the site you gave me and signed up but i dont know if i am diong this right.

i tried that did not work sorry ! it said it could not find any norton in the pc. it is in there i found the files when i searched "everywhere" i just dont know how to get it back

wow how excellent the service was, my tech took over my laptop and did everything for me!!! and he gave me norton 2010 for free !!! and he did not even want a thank you. i left feed back for him he was so great and you were also on helping me with the problem .

i should be a commerical for norton it would have been great , i have alot of parrots and they got excited because i was so happy and they were all talking and whistling. tooo funny love you guys you are the best in customer service !!!

I used to breed a variety of different 'parrots' and can imagine the excited noises! I'm glad that you got your installation working. As an FYI, so long as you keep your subscription current, you're entitled to free product upgrades.

thank you for your response, i will keep norton up to date, it works well. i did a full scan and resolved some issues quickly !!

i take in abused birds,sun conures,quakers and mini macaws,they are a joy.
