I have two other computers, and I'm thinking of getting them both each a Norton Ghost 14 for recovery backup. All three computers have relatively small hard drives of 80G. I can buy another two Nortons.

I want to know if I could use only one external 500G NTFS iomega to store the backup for the three computers? There isn't really any issue storing all on the same drive except that Ghost on the PCs that don't have the backup drive connected will complain that hey can't see the drive.

It would be good if you bought Ghost 15 and then you can backup by booting from the Ghost CD and doing a "Cold Backup". That way you don't need Ghost installed on any machines.

I agree, go with Ghost 15. It is better because you can do cold images off the recovery disk and it fully supports images made with version 14.

If you purchase it online here you can use your version 14 to qualify for a discount.

When you image the other systems, create folders for each system so you can identify what computer it's for and the date.

Like: Johnny_042010, MyLaptop_April20, etc

Dave
