Re: MDTurner

Since the passing of MDTurner (Mike), I've been in contact with his son (Chris) and wife (Hilary). Symantec wanted to know what we could do to honor Mike's memory and the hundreds of people he helped on the forums.

Chris told me a brief story:

Although it was in his best interest to move Mike to a palliative/hospice care ward at Borders General Hospital, Mike didn't feel worthy enough to accept their charitable services. To convince him to submit, Hilary agreed that any donation in his memory would be given to the Macmillan fund within the Scottish Borders area.

So earlier today Symantec donated GBP 1,000 to the Macmillan Centre at the Borders General Hospital in memory of Michael Turner.

When I told Chris we had done this, he replied, "Macmillan do a great job of supporting both patients and their families and my Dad would have been delighted to know that the donation you guys have made in his name went to them."

If any of you also wanted to contribute to one of Mike's final wishes, you can make a donation to: Fund21 (Macmillan)

And send it to: Borders Macmillan Centre, Borders General Hospital, Melrose, TD6 9BS, Scotland

Please add a note that the donation is in Michael Turner’s memory and give them your address as well.

Thank you.

Re: MDTurner

If a group of people were speaking good things about a person even in his absence make sense that he should have been a nice and kind gentleman. Mr.Turner have a safe trip into god's kingdom....

Rose single.jpgGod bless his family (both real and "Norton") and friends.

Within one year, I lost my mom, my last living & fav aunt (2010) and this year, her son..my "big bro" cousin.  So, I know exactly where his family is at right now...leaves a permanent hole in your heart, which "scabs over", but is never filled again.  My Dad died 18 yrs ago this week, and not a day goes by, that I don't think and speak of him. I've found embracing the good memories helps alot. He made me the woman I am today (never lie and never steal..drilled into my brain). I will always respect and love my wonderful Dad.

My heart goes out to family & friends of Mike and may God ease their pain.

Donna

P.S.  I just noticed that donations were sent to his hospice. My dad, mom and aunt all were in hospice care at the end and hospice workers are one special breed of human beings!  All of my family members also had donations go to hospice in lieu of flowers.

Rest in Peace, Sir. I can tell by the testimonials of your friends that you were someone special. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to know you. Rest in Peace Mike
