I am stunned and deeply saddened to learn of mdturner's passing. Aside from being one of the bright stars on the forums, he was just a great guy to know. We became good friends through our PM correspondence, and my sense of loss is beyond words right now. I send my deepest condolences to his family.

Incredibly shocking and saddening news. Beyond the help he gave on the forum, he was a good man. I definitely feel a huge sense of loss with his passing and will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.

I just looked up what Mike's last signature file was. I think it speaks clearly about what kind of man he was:
We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace. ~William Ewart Gladstone
You touched our lives, Mike. Thank you for helping to make the world a better place while you were here. You helped so many.

What a shock,
I can't believe this is true, tell me it isn't.
Mike was one of the first testers to help me out and my God I will miss him, he would allways send me Christmas and New years greetings, he never forgot.
I send my condolences to his family, rest in peace my friend.

Mike will be greatly missed. Not only was he a very intelligent guy, but very friendly and an all around wonderful person. His Kudos, Posts, and Solutions can be measured, but his kindness was unmeasurable.

A tribute to my friend Mike.
I still remember when I first started becoming actively involved in the Norton Community and Mike saw me trying to help others and I was a "rookie" when it comes to forum etiquette and conducting myself in a way that would make others feel truly welcome. Mike volunteered of himself to be like a mentor to me, giving suggestions, advice but most importantly he gave of himself.
We quickly became friends, first in the Norton forums, then in PM and then through offline email correspondence. In time we grew to be good friends and I will value my friendship with Mike for as long as I live. I remember when he sent me pictures of where he lives and invited my husband and I to stay with him and his family when next we traveled to the area where he lives.
Mike is one of those selfless people who is always willing to give of himself and help others in their time of need. Mike was never too busy to do what he could to help people.
I know that anyone who has had the honor of knowing Mike is richer for that experience.
I regret that I never had a chance to meet Mike in person but he forever has a place in my heart and in my thoughts.
Mike, may you rest in peace and know that there are so many friends and loved ones who will always remember you for the kind and loving person you have always been. Thank you for touching our lives my friend!
My heartfelt condolences to his family. You will be in my heart and my prayers.
