Horrible -- although luckily not as devastating as the Haiti earthquake. Google Earth had updated images there shortly after that hit and all you could see was the outline of the cathedral.
I see Google Earth has flagged the center but the images are still December 2010 .... some of the street view pictures show how impressive the Cathedral and it's tower must have looked.

Quads,
How far away are you from Christchurch? Are you on the map you posted above?

I am in Christchurch, on the South side, still no water or sewage and aftershocks still going.
I have not marked my location on the map, just below the yd of the name on the map Sydenham above the name Spreydon

When I heard there was another quake in New Zealand, you were the first person in my thoughts. Where were you at / what were you doing with this newest one hit?

I was on the PC at home (here now) and closing the back door, well the PC didn't stay on for long. I ended flying into the floor face down and decided to stay there as bugger trying to get up on my sticks. hahahaha could be a good UTUBE video.
Map zoomed out of shakes added so far. None of the dots are for shakes over a week old.
