Well great to to this today

Scientists say the jolts will continue for decades - with the pattern of quakes unlike anything seen before.

Kelvin Berryman of GNS Science told Fairfax New Zealand the sequence of quakes will subside over decades rather than years.

'Christchurch city has had a lot of quake activity. A lot of the stress must have been released in the city area, but around Canterbury there may well be an ongoing sequence over a period of a few decades.'
