6.5 Quake has hit NZ North Island.

The 7.0 last night does not show on the graph above it is outside of the A.S zone for us.  the one at the beigining of the graph above is the 7.1 we had to start our sequence in sept 2010.

I did feel it and then our 3.9 later after that.,  The 7.0 was a rolling one that just carried on.  It was offshore and sooooooo deep instead of shallow like ours that it is felt further away as a rule but not as strong for everyone.

I had no Phone line anyway, so no0 phone and net.

Four hundred quakes over magnitude 1 since Saturday night.  Largest was 5.3.  I live about 125 miles from the swarm zone and haven't felt any of them, although I do hear the house creak ever so slightly once in awhile.  I did get a good shaking from the 7.2-magnitude quake in that area two years ago, though.  The current swarm is interesting, but I don't think it comes close to what's been happening in Christchurch.

Between 1 and 1.9 people wouldn't feel the thing unless in a major high rise I guess,  I have been able to feel a shallow 2.4

We are over the 11,000 shake make now.
