As the forum is setup for techincal problems it seems that the work that is put into a product and the forums may be forgotten a tad bit. It is why I wanted to mention that I appreciate these forums as they have been informative.
The reason for the post is that while replying I noticed that I can resize the window which is not only helpful but it is the first time I have seen this application used online.
I think it may be helpful for users to acknowledge those things that they like as well as dislike so that those things that are most helpful or appreciated can be kept and/or better implemented/updated.
Take care,

Absolutely, these forums are great - I agree with you!
While it's true that I do my share of complainin' about stuff that concerns me, nevertheless I certainly do appreciate these forums - and the fact that they let us complain (within reason anyway), gives the forum even greater credibility and value, IMO. Over the years I've seen other companies' forums (a well-known computer manufacturer, unnamed to protect the guilty) where the slightest mention of discontent or something unfavorable, even among long-time loyal customers (trolls don't count), results in entire threads being deleted - I don't trust companies that do that, where they try to mask any public mention of alleged problems. But I have not seen that here.
Gives me more faith in the product, you know, that Norton has enough confidence in their own products so they don't automatically freak out or start bashing when someone complains a little.

The editor-window-resizing is pretty cool alright.
Maybe they could make the resize-triangle bigger though, so people would notice it's there, 'cause I hadn't even noticed it until it was brought to my attention.

Good point.
Since you mentioned users acknowledging things they like, one thing I am in total awe and amazement
of, is the moderators and some other people too, who post here. I used to have a boss years ago who had an almost godlike
ability to handle even the most upset or unreasonable and overly-demanding customers - usually he'd just talk to them and get them calmed down, listen to what they had to say, find out what was really bugging them, work through it, and it would end up as a win-win situation - everybody happy. (Mind you, the complaints had nothing whatsoever to do with me - totally different area of work - it was a small company (about 20 employees) so he was "boss" for everyone.) I used to study him, like "How does he do that??", trying to figure out what his secret was for dealing with people, and I still don't know - natural tact and diplomacy I guess. I wish I could be like that. (I'm a very good listener, which is probably half the battle at least, but I end up saying dumb things which counteracts it.)
But anyway - back to the topic
- I totally respect how the Norton mods and employees and other posters here handle "difficult" situations where a poster is complaining about something-or-other. It would be all too easy (and likely tempting) to give a harsh response in such cases, but I haven't seen that - they're always helpful and polite, trying to ascertain the real problem, looking beyond the poster's usually-temporary irate state of mind. It's a rare thing in the modern world, to see that high degree of professionalism and courtesy. And it's very much appreciated, ![]()

I've noticed that there are over a hundred views of this page thus far and would like to invite those that peruse this page to post what they like most about the forum. I think it is a great way to let those that work on making this possible know that there efforts are appreciated and can continue to develop in accordance with what users like :)
So post away.... as long as it is within the TOU ;)
