Can we/or did we have a print function in the PM section???

Hi

Could we have a print function in the PM section as when I ask for assistance it would be handy to print out any instructions given,or the ability to email them to myself.

Hi mo,

If you mean something like a "printer-friendly version" option, I think that would be a handy idea.

Good thinking!

hi mo,

A quick work around for you.

1 - hi-lite the text you want to print with your mouse pointer.

2 - type control-C to copy it to your clipboard (or right click it and select copy).

3-  Open a Notepad window and click in it.

4- Type control-V to paste your clipboard into Notepad. (or right click in Notepad and select paste).

5- In notepad go to File and Print.

Great question!

Re: Can we/or did we have a print function in the PM section???

To be bluntly honest, this item does exist on the list of possible feature enhancements, but I doubt that it will be implemented in the near future.

Several opposing forces of similar magnitudes are operating to keep this suggestion's priority low.

First, new printers in the last few years do a much better job quickly and efficiently printing a web pages as displayed.

Secondly, users print less, there was a time in history if we found a good post etc, we wanted to print it so would could find it again.  Anymore you only need to print when your following directions, and many users are actually using second machines, which means they don't print at all.

Finally given first and second, and with the quick and easy 'workaround' to make your own printer friendly pages, there are many more other more important enhancements that we would prefer to see the development team work on.

Still a great question tho, because it allowed me to share the quick an easy work around that's available to everyone, and they just might not think of it.  That works for almost any web text, not just here.

(ps - My 2 cents worth on Firefox updates:  Select Automatic Updates for Firefox.)

After it just click on File -> Print, and select the Page range to Selection, and click print. ;)

Thanks Allen

Is it that hard to add the feature?Just a question from someone who does not know.

I prefer blunt and honest than beating around the bush!! After all you guys have to work out what's best and the reasons you gave are sound.I might go sulk in the corner regarding the 2nd machine/following directions as I don't have one yet!(maybe the near future:smileywink:)

Thanks for your 2 cents I would prefer a dollar!!:smileyvery-happy:

As always your extra info comes in handy.

don't forget to tag the work around so others may find it or put it in the useful page section of the forum(hint)
