Re: Forum Software Update

[ Edited ]

Line 1 -- Hi Allen I am using IE 8.

Line 2 -- Have not tried it Firefox yet.

Line 3 -- will try out Firefoxe tonight..

Line 4 -- After two stops..

Edit, That proved me wrong, didn't it.

It's just that nearly every message I see is written continuous, without any line breaks.

Re: Forum Software Update

Tony,

When you say:

        ..... not to highlighted post

I take it you do not mean Highlighted in the sense of the message Options menu item Highlight  that is referred to in the gradient color but rather the actual message you are on?

I use threaded mode and when I use an email Subscribed link to a message in a thread it takes me to the actual message which comes up in the reading mode with the thread structure underneath it. But in that thread tree the message I'm reading is not highlighted in any way so to find my way to another message in the thread -- assume it is not the previous or next for which there are links -- I can't easily identify which message I'm reading.  I have to check the poster's name and the date time stamp (which I like seeing in the way it is now being displayed) and then scan down the thread tree to locate it.

Could the message I'm reading be highlighted in the thread tree in some way?

Re: Forum Software Update

Hi Tony

We could use a label on the Kudos Ghost symbol so everyone knows what that symbol is and also maybe the numbers of the Kudos could be in black or some color which can be seen more clearly or distinctly. If you forget to hit bold and want to do it at the end of the post but before you post it, is there a way to do that? I just tried doing it, but it only made one word bold when I wanted the whole post in bold.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Re: Forum Software Update

Hi Tony,

The thing about having a title for the Kudo icon has been brought up a few times. There seems to be a consensus that this is needed. Can this be added to your list?

Also, any thoughts as to the other items I listed earlier over here?

Thanks

Allen

Hi Allen, please see my post here. It's something that other users of the software have pointed out, and we're working on getting a much clearer graphic to communicate KUDOS. It's not on the list because it's not specific to our forum. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks!

Hi huwyngr,

I mean "highlighted" in the Linear View, when you click "Options > Highlight" and you are linked directly to a specific post. The one with the light yellow background is what your browser URL is pointing to, and that should be the first post you see.

As for marking which post you're viewing in a threaded view, that's a great idea. I'll submit that for review. Thanks!

Hi there: There is no "formatting" toolbar to control my posts. The text is strung together. The speed is that of slow dial-up. Is it only me? IE 8 hangs and I have to end it's task.

Same here, seen faster snails.

Sometimes, clicking on 'Refresh(F5)', gees things up a bit.

It's not just a great idea -- it's essential and I'm sure was there before.
