Hi Allen_K and/or Tony,
I had mentioned before here about my posts being highlighted in yellow and Allen indicated this was probably due to which post currently in focus or something.
But I have trouble with that because I am seeing up to THREE color variations on a single page. I see white background on some posts, a grey background on another and a yellow background on yet another. Obviously three posts cannot be in focus simultaneously.
Further, when a post is highlighted in a certain color it is not the entire post but only part of it. For example when a post is highlighted in yellow, it starts at about the 8th line of the post - on the same line as the registered date for the user.
This really does look hokey. If the post is to be a different color, at least the entire post should be the same color. Further, this does not explain why I see up to three different background colors on the same page.
Part of this problem is seen easily by explicitly highlighting a certain post. The background on that post turns yellow but only starting at the 8th line. Again, it should highlight the entire post the same color.
Thoughts?
Thanks much
Allen

Hi Quads,
Thanks for doing that. ![]()
Something else I noticed from that however. How did you copy my post snippet into your response? I'm asking because I noticed that the lines are truncated.
Another forum software issue?
Thanks
Allen

For the Invalid HTML flag --- on which board are you seeing it? Is it with your account, or is someone else letting you know about the error?
I saw that error today when I copied part of Tim's announcement on top of the NIS/NAV part of the Forum. I put part of the post in my answer to someone's thread about when they would get the update to their program. It looked like Tim's post had the invalid HTML when he made the post right in the forum. It was the part that said the new version would be a phased in process, not those exact words.
I just got it now as I was about to post this answer...our post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied.

Why am I suddenly getting asked permission to copy from the clipboard when I use RMC / Paste while CTRL + V is not working although if you invoke the Copy from Word icon it tells you to use CTRL + V ?
I was able to reproduce this ONCE while using IE8, but I can't do it consistently. What are your steps for this one?
I am getting this with IE 7 and xp pro sp 3. when I highlight and copy

I am also not getting this problem consistently but have seen it a few times where it asks for permission.
I am still trying to figure out what the trigger is or if there is a specific action(s) which causes it. So far it just seems to be pretty random.
There is definitely a problem here and we should buy a round of drinks for the first person who is able to figure out a precise and 100% reproducible trigger! ![]()
BTW: I am seeing that most of the time Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V works, but the same problem with being asked for permission on random occasions.

A bit annoying.I'm not able to reproduce this one -- when I post a reply, I'm taken to the post that I replied to. Which browser are you using? And is anyone else seeing this problem?I can reproduce this one. After pushing Send, it not goes down to the post I wrote, it stay on the top of the page (the same your post is on, not the 1st page).
I use IE8 on win7.
EDIT: Now it brought me to the same page where the original message I replied on was, not to the last one, where my post is...
EDIT2: After the editing it does the same, not go down to the post, just staying in the top.

I have received the HTML error at times. I have never tried to post anything html.
Cut and paste seem to be hit or miss with me. I only seem to be able to do it if I place my text bar far away from any previous written text.
Also noticing today that forums are timing out frequently like every couple of pages or fail to load correctly. I have to refresh or reload sometimes 2-3 times to get a page loaded.
I am using firefox 3.5.7
My wireless connection is good (4 bars) connected at 54 Mbps I am at the opposite end of my house from my router, but if I was closer the connection would be higher.
I have other tabs open in my browser and haven't had any other websites/pages load incorrectly..Only this forum.
If I am the only one having this issue... Maybe it is my puter....IDK.
Just thought I would share.
[Edit] When I posted this message, it took me to page one of the topic and above the OP it stated sucessful blah blah_click here to go to reply. Thats annoying. I have tried to Edit this 3 times and it keeps timing out and I lose everything I wrote. argh!

Hi rayofsunshine,
No, you're not the only one who is experiencing very sluggish response from the forum today. I, too, am constantly reloading my browser (also Firefox 3.5.7) and getting errors about invalid html half the time. All other webpages are working just fine - including the website of the German Norton Community ;-)
