Tony --

<< I compose mostly in the editor, but occasionally in notepad. I do this because I know with every forum where formatting is allowed, formatting is always copied over. Right now, I have 2 notepad windows open, ready to strip my post of all formatting.  >>

Now that copied straight over without the Insert from WORD screen; it just did a UAC on me and asked if I wanted to allow access to the clipboard .......

Send Nanny home please!

BTW       List Private Messages (0)  is much more visible but aesthetically and from a practical point of view could the (0) be larger, eg the height of the icon.

Re: Forum Software Update

Hi Tony,

Any comments on the sluggish response issue that several have mentioned?

Thanks

As others have suggested I think it would be useful to have PM notification of new messages visible anywhere on the page you happen to be. Or how about at the least, have it be visible at the top and bottom of the page for better visibility?

Re: Forum Software Update

[ Edited ]

Hi Tony,

Allow me to ask what may seem like a somewhat unrelated question if I may.

Does the forum software include any code to explicitly set the background color of the client browser? Or does the background color depend on whatever the browser default is?

Actually I changed the default in IE and noticed that when the page loads it changes from my configured background color to white.

However on safari (iPhone) the default color on the top portion of the pages goes back to black background instead of white on the line just below the search box on the top left. On the line where the Topic Options appears it goes back to the normal white background.

This only happens with Safari on my iPhone and it makes some of the text unreadable since it is also black. This did not happen with the old forum software but yet from my test with IE it looks like the web pages includes a specific background color.

Kinda strange, not sure what to make of it. :smileysurprised:

By chance does anyone happen to have a MAC or a PC desktop with Safari who can test this?

Was there any sort of change to how the background color is specified with the new software?

Thanks

Allen

P.S. Hopefully I don't sound like I'm losing my marbles or something! :smileywink:

Re: Forum Software Update - unable to view user profiles!

Is there another forum update in progress or something?

Suddenly I am getting access denied messages when trying to view a users profile! It is happening with several different users at present.

I will check back periodically and update if this problem goes away.

Thanks

Allen

Re: Forum Software Update - unable to view user profiles!

For the past few nights (USA time) there have been brief downtimes for the forum to update the software with the fixes. Since there are not more posts on the subject, I assume that you can now see the User Profile page. I apologize for the downtimes - they are to implement the changes you requested. Thanks!

Hi Tony:

Well, I logged in just now and so far I am pleased to report...

That I have the formatting toolbar and the site is significantly faster. More work still needs to be done.

The text is no longer squished together.

So far, so good.

Thanks. :smileyhappy:

BTW...

The KUDOS and SOLUTION icons need to be more prominent and descriptive, otherwise many posters might overlook them and will not know what they represent. The KUDOS graphic still looks cut off from the bottom.

Just my three cents.
