Can you explain this clash? I want to be sure we resolve all the issues. Is anyone else seeing something like this?

I'm not able to reproduce this one -- when I post a reply, I'm taken to the post that I replied to. Which browser are you using? And is anyone else seeing this problem?

are duplicated above and below the message you are reading in Threaded VIew anyway but the ones you use most

when you are in a thread are only below the message so often out of sight and needing scrolling.

NOTE Tony -- Invalid HTML coding flag has NOT been fixed ......

Looking at the layout the  "Message Listing -- Previous Topic -- Next Topic" links at both to top of the thread and at the top of the post may look redundant. But as you say, there are some longer posts, and having that link at the top of the forum might be helpful.

For the "Previous Message - Next Message" link, do you think that should be duplicated above the post? Or just appear once, above the post?

For the Invalid HTML flag --- on which board are you seeing it? Is it with your account, or is someone else letting you know about the error?

    Re: Forum Software Update--

    1. Two things:

    1. Tile of message needs to be expaneed horizontally as before. Now part of the title is not visible, for example, the posrt about the 17.5 updte, the info on updated etc. can not be seen.

    2. When opening a post message box like this one, I have to first select font and font size in order to type anything.  If I do not I can not type anything. Also my selection of this is not rembered if I return to forum or thred later.

    1) The small KUDOS icon on the left hand side is not complete, only 2/3 of it is displayed. There isn't any text displayed that could elict a response from a user even to give it. Just looks like a yellow background white a white star.

For the "only 2/3 of it is displayed..." the bottom of the Kudos star should be cut off; that's the design of the icon. Is this what you mean?

I agree -- there should probably be some text indicating that the yellow rectangle area is for Kudos. We're working on it, sorry.

    Re: Forum Software Update--

Having to set a font family / size is not needed here on my XP Pro IE7 machine. The default font is Arial I think

As for size this is default this is 1 and this is 2 so it looks as if 2 / 10pt is the default.

There is not enough contrast between the font color and the background in the kudos area and the number needs to be larger as has been pointed out elsewhere. Eg I find it hard to tell if it is a 0 or an 8 in the rectangle.

Why am I suddenly getting asked permission to copy from the clipboard when I use RMC / Paste while CTRL + V is not working although if you invoke the Copy from Word icon it tells you to use CTRL + V  ?

I was able to reproduce this ONCE while using IE8, but I can't do it consistently. What are your steps for this one?

I"d like them all duplicated above and below since on short/medium messages you will see the top line and so don't need to scroll down while on long messages you will have scrolled down and lost the top line.

Also in this context, the first message in a thread does not have a Previous Message which is understandable but the Next Message should not be moved over to the left margin -- that is bad ergonomics since hand / brain wants things always in the same location.

On the Invalid HTML I see it with every message that has anything pasted into it even from a forum source like a link:

  • Re: Forum Software Update
  •

When I go to post this reply I will get the Invalid HTML has been corrected (sic) message and have to hit Post again. Or I can hit Prview the first time and then Post -- same error comes up.

    Above the ediitor:

Please correct the highlighted errors and try again.

    Below and outside the frame:

Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied.

Don't think this issue has been brought up:  When previewing in the reply editor, left-clicking on a link to verify that it works does nothing (even though the leaving-the-site popup appears).  Middle-clicking with the scroll wheel to open the link in a new tab does work (even though the leaving-the-site popup does not appear).  This is in Firefox 3.5.7.
