After replying to Yaso's message, her status still remains the same. Here is the screenshot of the same.
Edit: I'm not saying that this couldn't be a problem. Just that I'm unable to replicate it at my end.
Thanks,

Hi Tom,
Thanks for trying this but there has to be something going on. I've been seeing this 100% of the time for at least the last few weeks.
I'll post another response after this. ![]()
Thanks

Hi Tom,
Here's the next one, showing the Date of Last Activity has changed.
Thanks again

Another example.

And after.
Now I am really confused! This is the first time that the time has not updated to the time of my response in at least a few weeks. This is too weird! ![]()

Trying the same thing with Yaso.

Hi Tom,
There has to be an answer here. I am at a loss right now. All I can say is that I've seen no less than 50 or 60+ examples of this in the last couple of weeks alone. Users who were not logged on since as much as 1-3 days before my response and showed currently Offline. Then my response and their time updated to *MY* time and still showed them offline.
Way too much for coincidence.
I need to put on my software engineering hat and think outside the box and see if I can come up with the common denominator. ![]()
Yaso, you said earlier that you saw the same thing. Let's figure out the common denominator together. ![]()
Edit: Could this be specific to certain forums? The first example I showed was huwyngr and it showed that the time stamp changed with my response. Yet when I done the same with mdturner and Yaso it did not change. Huwyngr, did you happen to log on briefly during these few minutes of time when I posted those two responses?
Thanks much
Allen

Thank you for taking your time to test this out. It certainly seems too much for coincidence.

Hi AllenM,
Yes, I've seen the same thing; and yesterday, when I was replying to a poster who was online but idle (or who had not logged out properly [simply closed the browser window instead of actually logging out]), said poster's time changed to reflect the time of my answer. So it not only happens with offline users, but also with "idle" "online" users.
