May I have some advice please.....
Last night several people seemed to have problems getting links to "Live Chat" to work. I know that some links I had used in the past apparently successfully would not work properly. The link went through to a page that showed the "Chat Now" button for Live Chat but when that button was selected all I was offered was a Phone Chat box that then did not work.
I believe that the problem was reported to Norton last night and we were led to believe that all would be well today.
Today I went back to one of my posts and found that the link still failed in the same way. So I searched around and found a link which did work. I posted this into an additional message but when I checked it through that message - same old problem.
By going back into the message and editing the HTML to take out " target="_blank" " I seem to have got the link to work.
However this now means that a new window is not opened as would usually be the case from the forum and I don't see why the same link seems to not work with a new window and work when it is not a new window.
Now I hope that makes sense to some of you because it does not to me. Am I doing something silly, or is there really a continuing problem with the Norton servers, or is the problem Lithium? And what do I need to do to get around it?
I'm using Windows 7 and Chrome.
Thank you for your patience....

Andmike:
This link always seems to work for me. and seems to leave out a lot of extraneous details. It is also the same link that comes up if you query Nathan for CHAT. He pretends that he doesn't know what you are talking about at first, but if you insist he provides it. ![]()

I really hate to tell you this delphinium, but I will in a nice way of course - when you click on that link and then on the Chat you still get the Phone option. ![]()

I get Chat registration.

Thanks delphinium (and yank and SendOfJive).
Case proven. Now what is the solution?
When I click on delphinium's link I get the page that offers me the "Chat Now" link. But when I click on that I get "Norton Phone Support".
However if I copy the text of delphinium's link and paste it in a new tab, I again get the page that offers the "Chat Now" link but clicking on that gets me to "Chat Registration".
And yank gets "Norton Phone Support" and SendOfJive gets "Chat Registration". With such results we can hardly give reliable advice to poor troubled users.
So do we agree that there is an issue? If so has anyone any idea of what the problem is, because just at the moment I have not but suspect it must be something to do with Lithium or at least the way Lithium and Norton web pages interact.
Any thoughts welcome.....
Edit:- Given Dave_Coleman's question in the Norton 360 forum - I'm in the UK using Chrome 15.0.874.121 m.

Hmm..Interesting. It says Phone support as explained by Andmike, but it really is CHAT, not phone. That is
dumb. It happens on Opera and Firefox latest versions of both out of Canada.
No idea what would cause that to happen. It could be a scripting problem I suppose.

Hello
This problem has been brought to the attention of Norton on Friday. Since this is a holiday weekend in the USA, I assume we won't hear about any possible solution until during the week. I just tried the link and it brought me to a form that said phone support. I have noticed that Symantec is redoing the website in some areas, so this is probably one area which needs to be corrected.. Thanksgiving Day was on Thursday, so it's probably a long 4 day weekend for them.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Its now the end of Wednesday and the problems are still continuing for me. Not only that, but getting any response from the Norton Chat links takes forever. Could Norton staff who are following this thread or whoever reported the issue to Norton in the first place, try chasing things up? Please.......................

Hey all,
There was a fix released for this but I think there are some issues yet to resolve. If you find continue to see a problem, can you walk me through the path to reproduce?
Many thanks for all your help.

It is the same now as it was a few days ago. Using the link delphinium posted takes me (eventually) to a the page I expect to go to, I click on the CHAT and it opens a phone registration, I complete it and click on continue nd it deos nothing at all.
If I copy/past the link supplied I go to the same page, click on Chat and it opens Chat registration. I complete it and click on Continue and it now takes me to the chat screen.
