I guess I'll be forced to accept MS's latest invitation to upgrade to IE 9 but I hate the very slim (vertically) TABs ... I have IE 9 on my WIN 7 64 bit test beds ...
Not necessarily - Atomic_Blast is experiencing the problem in both IE8 and 9.
Can you confirm the step-by-step instructions below on how to reproduce the copy and paste issue? I appreciate the irony in asking for this but please provide a link to a post that will crash the editor when all of it's text is copied and pasted into a new post.
Proposed steps to reproduce:
Thanks

Modify this to read any text:
Select all text from the post at the link you supply. That was a CTRL + V paste
But now i"m on IE9 it doesn't freeze/crash/ .... so far.
Select all text from the post at the link you supply. That was a Paste paste ...
Sorry about that. I'll post more if it comes back.
But navigation still seems slow.

Hugh,
Navagation is still slow. It seems to be spreading too. The network at work has lost almost half its speed.
If it keeps up we will be back to paper and pencil. ![]()

I did and they denied any knowledge of the subject or possible reactions to any of their products.

Yeah it's hard to be humble when you're perfect ......

Hi Hugh, elsewhere and others:
IE 9 copy/paste functionality has improved but not perfect, just yet.
IE 8 copy/paste functionality is still the same.
Between both browsers it's hit or miss with copying and pasting but IE 9 appears to be better, overall.
Web Page loading times are still Zzzzzzz. ![]()
Hang in there!
Atomic_Blast :)

Hi,
Being sick of the slow page load times I decided to give Chrome a go. I must say that is noticeably quicker loading pages than either Firefox or IE9.

My computers are fast and have the latest browser editions, but everything in this forum take a long time to load. Is it too many users and not enough bandwidth? Poor programming?
Can anything be done?

Hi,
Your complaint has been repeated a number of times. The staff is working on it. There are a couple of vendor updates in the mix so it's taking some time to sort out who has done what to whom.
I think that the hardware parts are adequate. It's just been the 'improvements' that have slowed things down. Hang in and hang on the only constant here is change.![]()
