Re: New Forum Problem

Searching by Solution and author name also no longer works. You used to be able to search by author and accepted solutions and this simply does not work any more.

Seems this last forum update has broken some key things.

Thanks

Allen

Re: New Forum Problem

AllenM, could you clarify how you are searching? I have tested search by author and it does indeed work.

Re: New Forum Problem

Hi Shannon,

Actually, now I see why this is happening. An advanced option was removed compared to what we had in the previous forum software.

In the old version we could do a search and ask only for posts written by a certain author to be returned and further we could click a box next to "Accepted Solution" and the search results would return only posts by that author which was marked as an accepted solution by the OP.

This box no longer exists that I can see. Now we have one that is titled Solved which is located just under where it says By Solutions or Kudos. Initially I thought this was analogous to the one I explained earlier but it is not. What this one does is return posts by the searched user which *that* user has marked Solved. E.g., If I search my username and click this Solved button to return only those results, what it comes back with are threads that *I* have started and marked solved myself.

What I am looking for is the one that will return all of my posts which were marked solved by the OP of that thread - a different thing than what is there now.

Can this other option be added back in? This feature of the old forum software was highly useful.

Thanks much

Allen

Re: New Forum Problem

The slowness of link responses through the forum is noticible.

Re: New Forum Problem

Hi Shannon,

Thanks and I have another observation. The usename search even as it exists is not consistent.

When I search my own username many times I get results returned for posts by other users and yet other times it seems it works. :smileysurprised:

None of these problems happened with the previous version of forum software.

Sorry, from my perspective this change is not ready for primetime so to speak.

Thanks

Allen

What's wrong with the Kudos button?  Everyone seems to find it without a problem.

Hey knighty-knight :smileytongue:

For one thing, a poster seemed to think that "Kudos" was part of the name of the poster who responded to them:

And there's an additional glitch with threads where the Kudo-ing feature has been disabled:

Maybe the button could look like this (taken from another Lithium forum) instead?
