New Member feedback

Hi All,

My first impression of the forum is the Registering process is not great or very user friendly and personally I think really unnecessary for a forum.

I put my details in typed the two words then pressed enter.

Your password needs to be this long with a capital etc !

As I was already frustrated with the Norton product that I am trying to get help with, this was a little irritating, so changed my password and pressed enter......

You have not ticked the agree terms so I tick the agree terms....I did? re ticked and pressed enter.

You need to enter your password agghhhhh.....I put the password in?

So I re-entered the new and unnecessary secure password for a forum?

Then re-entered the two words then pressed enter. Do not forget that tick or you are back to the start and you do not collect you £200, I think you get my gist by my rant by now ....

I am sorry but I am so harassed with the Symantec and the Norton Ghost product and ridiculous phone support from customers service where you wait on the line for 40 min to be cut off and when you finally speak with someone after another 30 min you can’t understand a word they say.

So when you try to register and I get this however ever small and tedious issue with the process I get distracted and need to write this post.

Guys we now spend an eternity now trying to log on to different forums, why is it when you hit enter and you miss out something you need to re enter all the detail again?  Oh I have just spotted the word verification on posts ..........why?

Brilliant now I get:

An Unexpected Error has occurred.

Return to my original page

Thankfully the system retuned me to my post with all text still in place

Okay now a third time I need to add the word verification because:

Re: New Member feedback

The reason why the Password has to be a certin Lengh and have Characters in it is because it makes your Password More Secure and less-likely to be Stolen by Hackers, or Cracked by Hackers.

And the Un-Expected Error is something that lithium and the Mod.s and Admin. of symantec are Looking in To.

Oh!  And Welcome to the symantec Forums!

Re: New Member feedback

Hi,

Thank you for your replay

I do understand the need to be secure but are we just going a little OTT here this is a forum?

I am so frustrated with the way Symantec has changed over the years.  My point was not really on the secure password it more about my first time through your registration.  I thought they are supposed to be designed for the user, so retyping is not very user friendly it is annoying and a complete waste of time.

Hi and welcome to the forums v2jtb!

I remember how annoying the password retyping was 2 weeks ago when I first registered. Yes norton is supposed to be more about the user these days but wouldn't you agree that a security company should stress good security habits on all parts of their website and in everything they do?
