    Do you think it would be possible to break the length of

"it is happening again, Live update"

ie for a month then close, and start a new heading showing month instead of 25 pages as current

Not to detract from your suggestion, I just wanted to mention that the current position is that threads are locked from further posts  after one month of no new posts. Lengthy posts are, imho, most often not necessary and arise from two many people re-posting same suggestion or making unnecessary and irrelevant comment. I think the moderators do a terrific job. The added ability of the OP to mark a specific msg as accepted solution helps future readers to hone in on the salient resolution.

I really don't like long threads either. They are very difficult to follow, especially when they cross over multiple pages. That's why I've changed my personal settings for 100 topics per page and 50 posts per topic. That's twice as good as your current 25 posts.
