Use the green SOLVED button when you are satisfied your problem is solved.....

Just thinking that the above should be in the newbie's corner/and the not so new on the importance of checking/Marking your thread as SOLVED  so others can find a solution faster. Is it written somewhere that only the original poster can click it as solved? As I'm not sure if this is pointed out any where.Hope I'm not becoming a pain with these suggestions :smileywink:

Thats right!!  The Original Poster in a thread will note that each reply has a  Solution button.JPG button just under the Kudos button as part of each Reply to the thread.   Choosing the best matching answer not only visually helps other users find solution, but also gives the thread a boost in our search result.

Re: Use the green SOLVED button when you are satisfied your problem is solved.....

I think mo and the most of us know this and some users too who cames here regularly, but the engine should inform somehow the new users about this function as I understand right mo's post. And how I think it should work in an ideal world :D.
I know there will be always people who won't do it, but the most will do if they would know what that button is for.....

Or if that's possible, we could add/delete the Solved marking for the posts too.... :P ;)

A New User Joins the Forums and has had a Thread Open for a while, with lots of Replies.  The User knows that the Answer has been Found, and wonders what the big, green button with the Tick is for.  The User presses it and, next moment, the building next to their's glows a bright green and then falls to the ground.  The User stares outside the window for and while, then says: "Oh Fiddlesticks!".
