I just upgraded my browser (Firefox 9.1) and now my norton toolbar is gone from the address bar as well as safe web and Identity safe, how can I get it back. It had worked fine with my older version of FF I've ran live update and made sure that I had
the latest compatability patches from norton, unless the new browser is not compatible.
any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays to all.

PS I just read the threads and saw that MShort is having the same problem, sounds like the issue is compatability.

Hi Snazzzzzz,
Please run live update repeatedly until it shows, "your norton product has latest updates" and restart the system whenever it requires a reboot,
Norton toolbar version should be (2011.7.4.3 (updated version) to have enable button in addons,
After performing complete live update, In FF Go to tools->addons-> extension->enable Norton toolbar addon and restart FF
Could you provide the toolbar version in FF(You can find in tools->addons-> extension)?
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Senthil

I have not had access to the Norton toolbar since installing 360 on my new windows 7 computer (Oct.). I have now installed firefox 9.1 which is supposed to be compatible and I have run live update so many times I'm going crosseyed. What I have figured out from these posts is that I should have Norton toolbar 2011.7.4.3 and Symantec 3.2 but I have 5.6 and 3.0. They are not compatible with firefox 9.1, but I can't figure out how to get these new updates.
It's looking like I may have to return to IE which does have the Norton toolbar, but I really don't want to do that. Any suggestions?????

Hi sekia,
Have you rebooted when liveupdates requested it? If you have not rebooted as requested, you will continue to download the same updates and never get to the next update that depends on the reboot. If you run liveupdate (and reboot when requested to do so) until such time that the liveupdate states "no more updates available" then you should have the latest NTB - please keep us posted.
FWIW - I have seen it take as many as 6 reboots to get to the "no more updates available".

I have actually never had live update request a reboot on my Windows 7 computer (I have on Vista). I have just rebooted when it says 'your Norton product has the latest protection updates', then I go back and run live update again. But obviously that isn't working to give me the correct compatible toolbar.

You need to go into Security History > LiveUpdate and see if the last entry there states that a Reboot is required. Normally, even if you miss this, it will be accomplished anyway, as most folks reboot sooner or later. Norton will not give you an outright wan=rning to reboot like Windows Update will.

I've checked the security history for all of today and under recommended action all updates today say no action required. I did a reboot earlier today anyway and still no updated versions of NTB.

This is a situation I have come across before in NIS, N360 and NSS with FF 6, 7 & 8. Following the exact procedure that follows has produced the desired results of the NTB appearing in FF. Do not add any addtional steps such as running the Norton Removal Tool, as that will cause you to lose your ID Safe, customised settings and will also remove any other Norton programs you may happen to have installed.
Please do the following in the order I list:
Totally uninstall Firefox
Download a fresh copy of Firefox 9.0.1 from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Install the fresh copy of firefox.
Download a fresh copy of Norton 360 from here: www.norton.com/n360s_5
Remove Norton 360 using Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP) - do not run the NRT as you'll want to keep your Identitiy Safe and other settings.
Install the fresh copy of Norton 360. Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond that there are no updates available (rebooting as requested by LiveUpdate).
Once all that is done in the order I am asking for you to do it, please check Firefox 9.0.1 and let us know the version number and also look at "Add-on's" and see if Norton Toolbar 2011.7.4.3 and Symantec IPS 3.2 are listed and shown as enabled.
Do you now have the Norton Toolbar in FF 9.0.1.?
Please let us know how this goes.
