Re: 360 on another computer

yes.  there was no option on putting in my key or serial when I installed the free trial.  just "install".  I unistalled the previous version on here prior to this, like the directions told me to.  it was expired...it would not except the key that I put it, so I was then told uninstall and install the free trial.

Well, it sounds like you have ended up with two subscriptions/two keys...Once again, I apologise if I am repeating myself: there was NO previous version of Norton 360 on your laptop when you installed the trial version? Because it had to pick up the key from somewhere - from a previous version.

Just seen that you edited your post. So you did have a previous version...Well, it looks like your trial version picked up the key from that version (which would not accept said key). When that key expires (in 2010), just use your other key (the one for the Norton 360 product which will expire in 2011) to activate it again.

Re: 360 on another computer

i edit my post above, i should have posted new.  I unistalled the previous version.  I installed a trial earlier when I had this problem, i canceled it, then did what i was told to get the same thing happen.  it shows cancelled but it too has a different key..getting so frustrated and almost sorry I started this.  it was not this crazy with the other company I was with, but I really like nortons coverage better.

Lol, ladydragon11, you got a mess with the keys, alright :-) You've ended up with two subscriptions, from the looks of it. As I said before, use the newer key to renew the Norton product which runs out first (after renewal, it should run till 2011, like your other product). You've got a multiple-user licence, so it should be okay.

Re: 360 on another computer

it's a mess alright.  before I go, the thing that worries me is that, did I PAY for this today?  just concerned that I got billed for what I already paid for, so to speak.  is there a phone number for norton somewhere so i could verbally check?  can't seem to find one on the site, just the chat and email.

I would recommend going to the chat again; but if you prefer voice-to-voice communication, please go to the link below, you'll get the phone number (US):

https://www.suth.com/symantec/CreateOnlineCSTicket.asp

If you're not in the US, please go here:

If you got billed, however, you would have received a confirmation e-mail stating that you have been billed. From what you told me, all the trial version did was pick up the key automatically and install itself - and not do anything further (not connect you to your Norton account where you had to pay; no notification of auto-renewal/auto-billing).

Re: 360 on another computer

WOOHOO!  I got it fixed and thought I would share incase there was someone else out there that did the same thing.  I should not have uninstalled the expired trial version as I was instructed to, I dont think.  I just know went into norton program, went to settings, went to the renew link, and put in my first key and boom.  I have 611 days.  so, now I am going off to chat to cancel this other subscription. Thanks for all of your help!
